"Snowline"

Notes from the Artist:

The good ole" days...not so good when it came to the laundry.  First you chopped wood to stoke up the fire in the woodstove, then pumped water and set it to heat in a big copper boiler.  If you were lucky, you had a new-fangled wringer/ washer.  Hot soapy water was dumped into its tub.  When the agitator had swished the load clean, you fed one piece of laundry at a time through the roller of the wringer, to drop into another tub holding rinse water.  Then, once more the dripping cloth went through the wringer.  The wash was then carried outside to hang on the clothesline.  In winter, everything would basically freeze dry.  With numb fingers you would remove the laundry from the line, shake off the snow, and bring it in.  Lots of work, but Boy!, did it smell wonderful!
