Lewis and Clark

"Beaverhead Rock"-- Detail

Beaverhead Rock is one of these easily recognized, vividly described physical features. This detail shows the outline of the promontory that to the Shoshones resembled the outline of the beaver's head.  The buildings were once a stage stop, long after the time of Lewis & Clark.  This etching is extensively hand colored.
