Frames

Landscapes

Landscape framing sample Coppock hand-colored etchings are available framed or unframed. Framing selected is complementary to the work and doesn’t overpower the subtleties of the media. Since etchings are traditionally framed with a light, neutral mat, these are presented in the traditional manner. The inner lip color is carefully coordinated to the piece. All mats and mounting boards are acid free.
This frame is recommended for use with these etchings:   “The Great Divide,” “Castle Ghosts,”
"First Snow in the Rockies,”  “The Rollins Barn,” “Truck Stop,” “ A Piece of the Past,” “Gold Coin Mine,”  “The Rest of the Story,” “Beaverhead Rock,” "St. Peter's Mission"

Snow Scenes

Snow scene with cherry-finish frame Snow scene with silver frame

Winter scenes naturally call for a silver frame (shown at right framing Somers End). Some etchings with a hand colored red barn or subject look equally good all served up in a cherry finished frame (shown at left on "A Story Re-Red").  Both framing options also apply to "Ethel's Barn" (not shown).

Miniatures

Miniature etching with frame

Because of the collectable nature of Coppock’s etchings, framing for a series has been kept the same throughout the years. If you have one of these miniatures from some time ago, or gave one for a gift, groupings can always be expanded with additional pieces.

This style of framing is recommended for:

“The Jawbone’s Connected to . . “
“Paul’s Pride”
“The Shoe’n Shop”
“Special Delivery”
“Winner’s Circle”

Botanicals of the Lewis & Clark Expedition

Included in the directives to Lewis & Clark were instructions to observe and collect specimens of flora and fauna.  The notes on the pressing pages included short comments by Meriwether Lewis recording the date of collection and the location.  In each rendering, I have tried to convey them in my version of his handwriting.

Included with each etching are short excerts from the journals of various members of the expedition.  They are dated from the approximate time of the gathering of the plants.

This framing is recommended for the botanical series.  The lip color of the mat will coordinate with the image of each etching.
